Well, here we go! The secret I’ve been keeping for the last few weeks is officially going to be revealed! Here’s a little back story before we get to it though. So as many of you know, I was supposed to move to Texas with Jacob in August, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to go, which left me living at home. I’m not going to lie, it was really hard coming to terms with the fact that I had to move back in with my dad while all of my friends were off doing amazing things. Sleeping in my little brother’s childhood bedroom (he took my old room when I left for school) was not my ideal situation, post-grad, but it’s what I had to do.
I’ve spent the last three months trying to figure out my next move. I kept thinking to myself over and over again whether or not I should stay in Michigan for longer, or try moving somewhere else on my own. I very seriously thought about NYC, but it’s not just about me. My golden pup, Isla Rose, aka my pride and joy, would not do well in a city like that, plus it’s even further from where Jacob was. So I kept searching for signs that would point me in the direction for where I was meant to be.
While in New York for Bridal Fashion Week this past October, Katia and I ran into a lovely girl at an appointment for Ines di Santo, and fate dropped in. She was the corporate buyer for the bridal salon at Neiman Marcus in none other than Dallas, Texas. What are the odds! I got her info and planned to meet up with her at the end of the month while visiting Jacob for the first time.
I’ll spare you all of the sappy details and get right to the point. I GOT A JOB WITH NEIMAN MARCUS’ BRIDAL DEPARTMENT! It’s something that I didn’t think would be available to me right away, but I got my official offer last week and just about died! Not only will I get to continue being around the most gorgeous dresses in the world, but I get to do what I love; help even more amazing brides say yes to their dress in a brand new city! I will also begin the mentoring process in the corporate buying offices as well! It really is a dream come true.
Right after the new year, I will be packing up and moving down the the Lone Star State with miss Isla Rose in tow, and we will be starting our new life! I got the most beautiful apartment in downtown Dallas that is just a few minutes from work, and about a half hour from Jake’s place! While I don’t really know many people in Dallas, I’m so excited to branch out and make new friends! This couldn’t have come at a better time and I thank God every day for blessing me with these opportunities. So hand over the bubbly and lets cheers to this new start!
Congratulations too you!!!! Hard work pays off.
Congrats to you! I am sure you will love the Dallas area. Best of luck!
