I feel as if I may still be dreaming because everything has just been too good to be true lately. I spent the other day traveling with my Bianka Bridal girls to the city of Chicago for the National Bridal Market. I have literally adored bridal fashion since I was a little girl, so getting to be around so many gorgeous gowns all day was unreal. The four of us met with reps from a few of our favorite designers and picked out the gowns we just had to have at the store. There’s one in particular that we fell in love with in the very beginning and couldn’t get out of our heads all day.

After an extremely long morning at The Merchandise Mart, we headed back to the hotel for some afternoon tea and relaxation. The Drake Hotel was absolutely superb, from the elegant decor to the gracious staff. And of course, being the history junkie that I am, I had to do a little research on the hotel as a whole, but especially on the Afternoon Tea special that they offer. Apparently, Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth have both been welcomed for tea at The Drake (so I’m basically royalty now, but no big deal).

We ended the day with some shopping in a few of our favorite shops on Magnificent Mile, and were not disappointed. Chicago really is an amazing place, from the towers that stretch high into the sky, to the river the cuts in between it all. My heart aches for that exciting city feel and I’m ecstatic that in about four short weeks, I’ll be in Manhattan for the next Bridal Market. Someone pinch me!

xoxo
