Classic Prep on the MET Steps

Cream Tie Bow Neck Dress // Black Pearl Blazer // Black Tights // Black Heels // Lipstick //

Hey Upper East Sider’s, Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite… Okay jk, it’s just me, but hey, a girl can dream right? Any time I walk past the MET when I’m in NYC, I feel like I’m thrown right into an episode of Gossip Girl and I love it.

This outfit is heavily inspired by everyone’s favorite Queen B, Blair Waldorf. Her sense of fashion was unlike any other. She was famous for mixing prints, textures and always staying true to her feminine, preppy style. I have always been inspired by the way she dressed on the show, and I love creating “Blair” like outfits.

Tweed is one my favorite textures to wear because I think it has such a classic look, and this dress just screams “classic prep.” It has such a great shape, being more fitted from my waist up, and flaring out into an A-line shape towards the bottom. The neck tie bow adds just the right touch of darling detail. This black tweed blazer is the perfect pairing with the cream colored dress because the tiny little pearls really pop. They’re both very versatile pieces, so I can mix and match them with other outfits.
