How To Get Glowing Skin For The Summer

Hello lovely humans! I’m so happy you’re here!

Summer is officially underway, (obvi because it’s the middle of July and I haven’t blogged in over 2 months… whoops), and I am here to share a super fun post with you guys! Now, I’m definitely no expert on beauty products, but I do feel like I know enough to get myself a put together look. One thing I love is having fresh, glowing skin for summertime, so here are the products I’m currently using and swear by!

Daily Skincare Routine

Having a daytime and nighttime skincare routine is essential for having radiant skin. I use a mix of a few different products, but I think as long as you have a really great cleanser to remove makeup and clean your pores at night, a bomb under eye cream to tighten skin and reduce dark circles, and a moisturizer with a serum built in, you’re pretty much golden. I’m currently using the Circcell Mandarin Cleansing Milk as my cleanser and I’m not joking when I say my skin has never felt so clean! Major perk, it smells like orange creamsicles (YUM!). For my under eyes, I’m using the ReFa Expression Eye Veil Cream. I’ve already began to notice a difference in the way my eyes look. It means I get to use less makeup which is always nice! Finally, I use the Augustinus Bader Rich Cream as my moisturizer. It’s a bit more expensive, but totally worth it! I feel it working from the moment I put it on and it still feels light on my skin!

In the mornings, all I do is slack on some of my favorite moisturizer to wear underneath my makeup, and not only does it protect my skin while I’m in the sun, but it improves the way my makeup glides on. Marc Jacobs Youthquake Gel Creme is out of this world! It’s extremely light and even smells like summer! The pineapple enzymes are such a powerful ingredient that will help your skin to stay glowing all day long.

Light Makeup

During the summertime, especially now that I’m dealing with this horrendous Texas heat, wearing less and less makeup is my go-to! I’m talking less foundation, lighter blush, a hint of highlighter, and pinky nude colors on my lips. I’ve been loving a lot of the Marc Jacobs products lately, (majority of the makeup I own is by MJ) and I think they’re all great for summer! The brand new Accomplice Instant-Blur Finishing Powder is what I use to smooth out the look of my skin. It gives me the light coverage I want while blurring the imperfections I don’t necessarily want seen 🙂

While my cheeks tend to be pretty rosy naturally, I do like to add just a bit of blush to my cheek bones. I’ve had the Urban Decay Flushed Palette forever now and the reason I love it is because the blush color is perfect, but I also love that it includes a bronzer and highlighter all in one!

Speaking of highlighter, I am head over heels in love with the new Marc Jacobs O!mega Glaze All-Over Foil Luminizer. Yes, I know, another MJ product, but I’m telling you it’s amazing! A little bit goes a long way and then I’m feeling like a glowing, radiant goddess. I like to put a tiny bit in the corners of my eyes to brighten them up, then along the tops of my cheek bones, on the tip of my chin and along the bridge of my nose.

I’m a sucker for a good lip color, but when I want to keep everything more natural and light, I love wearing the Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick in either the “Holy Chic” color or the “Queen B” color. They both have more of a pink/nude base, but they’re still light enough to achieve a more natural look.

Self Tanner

I know you all are awake that St. Tropez Self Tanning Mouse is my go-to for self tanners because I’ve talked about it several times, but I really do love it! With the exfoliating glove, the mouse goes on streak free and stays on for a week to 10 days even. This weekend I plan to use the St. Tropez Darker Mouse because I usually do two coats of the classic color, so fingers crossed all goes well! I’ll update you all on how I like it very soon!

. . .

Tomorrow I am leaving Dallas to head up north to Michigan and my excitement is through the roof! I haven’t been home for this long since I moved down here, so I know I’m going to be loving every moment of my time up there. Expect to see some pictures and videos of Isla and I with the whole fam at the lake basically the whole time!

Enjoy your weekends everyone! xoxo
