Good morning pretty people!
It was such a busy, but fun, weekend in New York for Bridal Fashion Week! I accompanied my two bosses, Maria and Katia, to all of the appointments and shows to select the Spring 2018 collection gowns for our store. There were SO MANY beautiful gowns, and I’m sure if you were following me on Instagram you saw quite a few of them featured on my insta story already.
So with every new season comes new trends, and I’m so excited to share with you the trends I noticed through each collection. It’s kind of funny to think about how none of these designers work together, yet this season they all have similar features, but in their own unique ways!
One of the biggest trends that myself, Katia and Maria all noticed were bows. From big puffy bows like the one on the blush Anne Barge gown pictured on the left of the second row, to the dramatic bow on the one shoulder Legends by Romona Keveza gown. They all added so much drama and interest to the dresses and some were done in such modern ways. I can already picture some of these dresses being worn by our brides at BIANKA Bridal!
Another huge trend that we noticed were dresses that were very sleek and simple. This used to be a trend a few years back and it’s making it’s comeback in a big way! From Anne Barge, to Romona Keveza, to even Hayley Paige, all of these designers are going in the direction of simplicity, and I for one, love it! ( And I know my boss, Katia, does too!) The Andi dress by Hayley Paige pictured in the second row above made my heart skip a beat, and I was just swooning over the short Legends by Romona Keveza dress. It was too cute!
Capes are probably the coolest, and more unique trend I noticed this year. From the shorter ones pictured above, to some longer ones we have already in our store from the previous season, I think they add such a cool element to dresses. The delicately beaded cape above on the right by Lazaro was to die for! It gave the otherwise simple dress just the pop it needed!
The one trend I hope stays around for a while are the 3D appliqué details. Ever since I tried on that Elie Saab dress in Monaco that was covered in 3D lace flowers, I have been obsessed with them. We started to see more of the 3D appliqués in the Fall 2018 collection a few months ago, and they have just carried over immensely to this season. From the Alessandra Rinaudo gown pictured first with the floral details on the bodice, to the gorgeous and delicate Hayley Paige gowns pictured in both the second and third rows; I am just obsessing and I need to see more!
Now of course I loved almost all of the dresses I saw this past weekend, but the few pictured above really stuck with me. The Alessandra Rinaudo gown in the first row on the left was absolutely stunning. The shape, beading, and soft tulle were hands down perfection! As for the Legends by Romona Keveza lace gown pictured on the top right and all five gowns in the photo on the second row, my breath was just taken away. The structure and overall quality of the dresses were utterly gorgeous.
I can see so many brides flocking to the dresses pictured throughout this post because they are nothing short of amazing. Within the next few months we will start getting some of them in store and the anticipation is killing me already!
