Happy Monday everyone! This past weekend my sorority, Phi Mu, celebrated our Formal and it was an absolute blast! I was so honored to have been chosen to plan this event from start to finish, however, I was even more excited to put my event planning skills to the test. I decided on the Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme because I knew that I wanted a fun, classy theme that my sisters would love. And to be honest, who doesn’t love Audrey Hepburn?
With help from my amazing coworkers at Posh Petals in Grand Rapids, I came up with some adorable hand-made decor ideas; my favorite being the Tiffany box inspired centerpiece. I made them myself by spray painting a 6 inch by 6 inch clear glass cube, then glueing white ribbon to the outsides, and finishing it off with 5 white hydrangea.
McKay Tower Ballroom in downtown Grand Rapids was the absolute perfect place to hold this formal event. It’s one of the most beautiful ballrooms I have ever stepped foot in, and their staff is just wonderful to work with. I also really enjoyed working with the staff from Martha’s Catering. They were all so helpful in creating a plated dinner perfect for Phi Mu Formal. Also, huge shoutout to my friend, Valerie Wojo, for taking some amazing professional photos during the entire event. You definitely rocked it out!
I’m so happy with how everything turned out over the weekend, and I can’t wait to start planning for Semi Formal in the fall!
Until next time,
Allyson
