January Stories & Spaces: The Year of Inspiration

Good afternoon loves!

I am beyond excited to be writing this post for you all right now! A few weeks ago, my blogging tribe, Alyssa, Paige and Tessa got together for our regular “Café Chat” meeting, but decided that it was time for a change. For this new cycle, we will be referring to this wonderful series as “Stories & Spaces.” We all agree that this new name best describes what we plan to do from now on!

For the first month of this new cycle, “Stories & Spaces”, the girls and I all met at Paige’s adorable apartment. She had so much planned for us once we arrived! She decided that we should each reflect and talk about what we wanted most out of this new year.

I believe that 2017 is the year of inspiration. Like I discussed in my “2017 Goals” post (read more from that post here), I want to dive deeper into all things that inspire me to be creative. Lately, I have been reading and writing so much more, but I’ve also discovered a new hobby, something that I am so excited to share with you all, but for now it’s a secret 🙂

Another question Paige asked us all was how we would sum up this past year. I believe that 2016 was a year of lessons learned. I finally figured out what I want to do with my future and how I plan to do it. I had so many opportunities open up and I took every chance that presented itself to further grow. All in all, 2016 was a good year for me. I am truly hopeful for the future and what it brings!

Paige has such a traveler’s soul, so she asked us in her final question if there is an adventure that we are dying to go on this year or planning on within the next few years. I am so blessed to say that I will be returning to Europe this spring for the third year in a row to attend and work at the Festival de Cannes in the south of France! This is definitely one of the biggest and best things that came out of 2016, and I can’t believe that I was one of the fourteen people from my university selected to go. I have not yet found out what job I will be doing while I’m there, but you can bet that I will be at every red carpet event possible dressed to the nines! The south of France is such a beautiful area and I’m so ready to explore all that it has to offer. A good friend of mine who will also be attending, plans to travel with me to Spain after the festival too! Like I said, I feel so blessed to have this opportunity and I can’t wait to make some amazing memories!
