Love is definitely in the air as Valentine’s Day quickly approaches! Most couples I know are frantically trying to figure out the perfect date idea, while others are just trying to top what they did the year before. Lucky for you, I got to meet up with a Grand Rapids expert to give all of you West siders some ideas! Sara Visser, the writer behind The GR Guide, and I got together earlier this week to discuss what our ideal Valentines Day date would be like.

First and foremost, you must pick up flowers from Posh Petals . All of the ladies there do such a wonderful job, you’ll want to go back for more fresh flowers every week! If you preorder your arrangement before Friday February 3rd, not only do you get to pick your preferred delivery time on Valentines Day, but you also get a free box of chocolates!
Next, make a stop in East Town at Le Bon Macaron for some sweet treats! They are also running a great deal where you can preorder a box of six macarons now for just $15. This deal is too sweet to miss out on, so make sure to order yours for your special Valentine before February 10!
On the actual evening of Valentines Day, I thought it would be so fun to participate in a couples cooking class. It’s something different that you and your partner can do together at the Downtown Market while indulging in fondue and sipping on delicious wine. You can register for the cooking class here.
After the cooking class if you’re still hungry, walk or drive a few blocks down the road to San Chez Bistro for tapas style snacks. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in downtown Grand Rapids because it is so unique! The food and the experience are unlike any place I have been before and it’s the perfect spot for some late night snacks.
As your perfect Valentines Day date comes to a close, top it all off with a romantic horse drawn carriage ride through downtown Grand Rapids. You can easily find these near popular spots downtown, like Rosa Park Circle and near the Amway Grand Hotel!
