Happy New Years Eve everyone!
I can’t believe it is officially the last day of 2018. What a year it has been! So many things have happened, some good, some not so good, but either way, it led me to where I’m at right this second, and for that, I am happy. I’m keeping it pretty low key for NYE this year, mainly because I’m drowning in moving boxes and I can’t seem to go out anywhere without feeling anxious about all of the stuff I still have to pack (AH!). Just a few more days until I’m off on my cross-country move!
Like many, I have come up with a handful of resolutions that I hope to accomplish in the new year. These many sound familiar, as I have had them as major goals before, but there’s something about 2019 that gives me hope that change really will happen and it will be for the good.
First, I want to live a healthier lifestyle. I plan to utilize the GORGEOUS gym at my new apartment and start up my Kayla Itsines BBG workouts again, as well as running, yoga and meditation. Since my kitchen will be way bigger this time around, I also want to cook and meal prep healthy meals for each day of the week! (If you have any healthy recipes that you love, send them my way!)
In 2019, I also plan to spend less money. This is a huge problem of mine because I think I have an addiction to online shopping, but my biggest problem is eating out and buying coffee. This year I hope to start bringing my own coffee or tea from home, or even infused water, and then of course, bringing my own lunch that I’ve meal prepped throughout the week.
My next resolution is to read more books. I have always loved reading, but this past year I felt like I didn’t have time for it, but in reality, I just didn’t make time for it. There are so many books that I still have to read from my summer reading list, so I guess what I’m going to do is carry it over to a new 2019 reading list!
Since I will be moving to a brand new city in a few days, I also plan to branch out and meet new people. I feel like it would be so easy for me to seclude myself because I will be living by myself, but I’m really determined to find a group of girlfriends that I can lean on when I’m in Texas.
Along with getting healthier physically, I want to become healthier mentally too. Feeling confident in my own skin has been a struggle for a few years, but I’m feeling more optimistic than ever that I can accomplish this goal. I will stop my need for comparison, and start looking at how great my body is in other ways.
Lastly, I want to grow closer to God. I have always had a pretty good sense of faith, but I want more. I need more. I’ve started looking up churches in my area of Dallas and I’ve found a few that spark my interest, but I definitely think I need to visit each one to see where I am most comfortable.
Like I’ve mentioned earlier, I seriously think 2019 will be the year. The year for change. The year for good. The year for love. The year for success. The year. I am ready for all that it brings.
xoxo A Touch of Tulle readers, I’ll see you all next year!
